Ken Valley, President & Founder

Ken has over 20 years experience in rural community finance. Ken founded Midwest Leasing & Finance in 1989 to help rural business people obtain equipment and real estate. In 2001 Ken began to explore financing wind projects for some of his customers, and over the next three years developed expertise and connections in wind energy. Ken incorporated Midwest Wind Finance in 2004 and has built the company to be a nationally recognized leader in community wind finance. Coming from a rural background himself, Ken has a passion for revitalizing rural communities and the company's financing model reflects this.

Ken is actively involved with all phases of the company's business, and takes the lead managing relationships and contracts with turbine manufacturers and financial partners.

Jeff Wright, Vice President

Following a long time interest in renewable energy, Jeff joined Midwest Wind Finance in 2006. He has over 25 years of senior level experience in marketing, advertising and sales. He has been President of three successful advertising/marketing agencies in Minneapolis including Periscope, the area's sixth largest agency. In addition to his marketing experience, Jeff has a solid financial and accounting background. He had direct P&L responsibility at all the agencies he managed and he was also involved in several complex agency ownership transactions.

Jeff heads up fund raising for the Wind Renewable Fund, works with several wind project developers, recruits staff and alliance partners and manages the company's marketing efforts.

Mason V. Sorenson, Manager of Legal Affairs / Project Development

Mason joined the Midwest Wind Finance team in 2007. Mason has had a passion for wind energy for years, and worked for a wind power development company in 1993-94. He has a great deal of experience working with growing, entrepreneurial companies, serving in a project management and operations management role. He is also a licensed attorney.

Mason provides project management for our active projects, much of which includes legal due diligence work.
